where we are
With offices in Gloucester, London, Birmingham and Manchester, we’ve got a base close to each of the country’s largest population centres.
Although we’re based across four locations, you’ll find we’re a sociable bunch, and we organise plenty of social events, from team nights out to summer barbecues and Christmas parties. Each year, we’ll hold some events where we all get together to talk about what we’ve been up to for the last year, and our plans for the future.
Gloucester
Gloucester is home to our headquarters and over 600 employees. We’re based on three neighbouring sites within a short walk of the town centre.
Gloucester itself is a thriving, historic city that’s perhaps best known for its magnificent cathedral. It’s a great place to live and work, with a bustling high street, some fine choices for eating out, top class rugby union, and the lure of some fine golf courses. Nearby Cheltenham offers the temptations of more shopping, horse racing (with the annual Cheltenham Festival a highlight), and yet more choices for nights out.
After all that, you’ll probably be ready for some fresh air. We’re spoilt for choice with the beautiful neighbouring Cotswolds and Forest of Dean both on our doorstep, or you could head out to the Wye Valley.
London
London needs no introduction from us. You’ll find us right in the heart of the City. Just head for the Lloyds building or ‘The Gherkin’ and you’ll find us nearby.
Birmingham
Our Birmingham office is right at the heart of the city. Birmingham is an international city with music, art, cinema and theatre for every taste.
If shopping is your thing, a trip to the new Bullring shopping centre and Selfridges should keep you happy. And after a busy day’s shopping, you can enjoy the vast array of pubs, restaurants and clubs. For sports fans there’s Premier League football, first class and test cricket at Edgbaston, plus athletics, golf, tennis and rugby.
Manchester
Manchester is famous for its diverse arts and music scene, gourmet restaurants, fashionable bars and bustling cafes. For retail therapy there’s the historic city centre or the marbled-malls of the Trafford Centre just out of town.
And of course, Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United is only a short tram ride away from our office.
For outdoor enthusiasts we’re just a stone’s short hike from the Peak District, with easy access to the Lake District and Snowdonia too.
Ansvar UK
Ansvar UK, part of the Ecclesiastical Group, is based in Eastbourne. With the South Downs and Sussex weald on its doorstep, Eastbourne also boasts several blue flag beaches, a world-class marina, and the beautifully restored Victorian pier.
The people in the Ansvar office also tell us that Eastbourne can claim to be the sunniest place in the UK – although we doubt it’s as sunny as Ansvar Insurance’s headquarters in Melbourne, Australia!
Ecclesiastical overseas
We also operate outside the United Kingdom through our branches in Canada and Ireland and through subsidiary companies under the Ansvar brand in Australia and New Zealand.
From time to time, opportunities for permanent or temporary transfers between branches are available.
