A perfect partnership
Ecclesiastical and English Heritage: working together to protect the nations heritage
At Ecclesiastical we share the belief that our heritage should be protected. That’s why we’ve been working closely with English Heritage for over 20 years and continue to be a headline sponsor at a various events.
Find out more about our partnership, our shared technical knowledge and expertise, including most recently collaborating on guidance of lead theft from churches and other historic buildings.
Ecclesiastical provides sponsorship through both financial support and staff involvement. Through our partnership with English Heritage, we assist in protecting the nation’s heritage for future generations.
Why did we get involved?
Since 1989 we have shared our technical knowledge and expertise to protect the nation's heritage, across a range of initiatives:
Working together to influence best practice thinking on the protection of our built heritage
Making contributions to documents relating to insurance of heritage buildings and risk guidance, on topics such as theft of metal and fire protection for cathedrals
Sitting on a number of English Heritage's technical committees to develop research strategies
Ecclesiastical is involved in several other heritage initiatives. For example, we provide a bursary to the University of Central London that pays for two students to study for an MSc in sustainable heritage. This is the only course of its type in the world.
We also work alongside other heritage specialists such as the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. As such we are the only commercial organisation in the UK focused on heritage.
