A perfect partnership
Why did we get involved?
Since 1989 we have shared our technical knowledge and expertise to protect the nation's heritage, across a range of initiatives:
Working together to influence best practice thinking on the protection of our built heritage
Making contributions to documents relating to insurance of heritage buildings
Sitting on a number of English Heritage's technical committees to develop research strategies
Contributing to climate change projects, along with other partners, to understand how this will affect our heritage
English Heritage also endorse several of our risk guidance documents on topics such as theft of metal and fire protection for cathedrals.
Ecclesiastical is involved in several other heritage initiatives. For example, we provide a bursary to the University of Central London that pays for two students to study for an MSc in sustainable heritage. This is the only course of its type in the world.
We also work alongside other heritage specialists such as the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. As such we are the only commercial organisation in the UK focused on heritage.
