Who are English Heritage?

English Heritage is the Government’s statutory advisor on the historic environment, officially known as the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England.

What do they do?

English Heritage exists to protect and promote England’s historic environment and ensure the past is fully researched and understood.

They continue to preserve the historic environment as a whole, including historic buildings, monuments and areas, and archaeological remains so we can all appreciate and enjoy this heritage today.
