The Children's Society

2009 is the third year of our partnership with The Children’s Society, throughout 2007/08 Ecclesiastical employees have shown a huge amount of dedication for fundraising and supporting specific events for The Children’s Society. So far this year five teams from across our business took part in the 24 Peaks Challenge, an endurance event to climb 24 of the Lake Districts' well known peaks within a total walking time of 24 hours. Our teams raised over £20,000 which has edged us closer to reaching the £500,000 milestone in terms of fund raising and sponsorship activity for The Children’s Society.

For the third successive year Ecclesiastical have supported Walk & Explore. The London Walk & Explore is the jewel in the crown of The Children’s Society fundraising events, On the 12 September, hundreds of our supporters joined us on a glorious summer's day, to walk the historic heart of London resulting in thousands of pounds being raised for the UK’s 100,000 young runaways. The London walk, long a favourite with supporters, gave the option to walk 1.5, 5 or 10 miles to raise money for some of the country’s most disadvantaged children. All three walking adventures centered around the River Thames, from Parliament in the West to Tower Bridge in the East, encompassing some of the capital’s greatest sights, from major landmarks to lesser-known treasures.

We have also supported the Good Childhood Inquiry. The premise of The Good Childhood Inquiry is that everyone can do something to improve childhood and it isn’t simply in the hands of the professionals or the government. The Children’s Society are committed to making childhood better for all children, with Ecclesiastical support this project can help renew the society’s understanding of childhood and in the process inspire all of our relationships with children and young people. You can donate £1 to The Children's Society for free. It's easy and just a couple of clicks away, by pledging an action to make childhood better at www.thegoodchildhood.com/pledge/pledge.asp Ecclesiastical will make a £1 donation to The Children's Society up to the value of £20,000. We need your help to make sure we reach this target, we're a quarter of the way there already, but with your help we can smash the £20,000 target in no time!
