our support
Ecclesiastical is a corporate partner of The Children’s Society. We support them with more than just financial support. Our staff are rolling up their sleeves and volunteering; we're fundraising through sponsored events; and we've set up a payroll giving scheme for staff to make regular donations.
So we're more than just a charitable partner - we're a natural partner. And we're making sure we play an active part in their work.
Who is The Children's Society?
The Children’s Society is a national charity driven by the belief that every child deserves a good childhood. They want to give children a real chance in life regardless of the disadvantages they might face.
What do they do?
The Children’s Society focuses on helping vulnerable children and young people whose needs are overlooked, neglected, ignored or who face the greatest danger, discrimination or disadvantage in their daily lives; children who are unable to find the help and support they need anywhere else. Their work focuses on four key areas:
Children at risk on the streets
Young refugees
Children in trouble with the law
Disabled children

How long have we been working with them?
We began our three year partnership with The Children’s Society in 2006. We initiated our relationship by helping plan and supporting the launch of the Footsteps for Childhood Walks in 2007, which has now been redesigned as Walk and Explore.
Why did we get involved?
All too often children are stripped of there basic needs – love, support, strength, hope - to name a few. When these needs are denied we feel there should be someone there to help. And thanks to the dedication and commitment of The Children’s Society there is. We have a genuine empathy for the work they do and that’s why we wanted to get involved. And we're playing an active part in their work.
Going forward…
We’re already busily planning and getting ready for the Walk and Explore series this summer.
Walk and Explore is really special, because it’s something the whole family can get involved in, whatever your age or level of fitness. The six flagship events taking place in London, Durham, Canterbury, St Albans, Oxford and Bristol will be brought to life with historical costumed characters, anectodotes about the past and a fun, informative quiz.
For more information on taking part in or volunteering at these events, please contact Shafiya Dawoodkhan at The Children’s Society on 020 7841 7240 or email at sxd@childsoc.org.uk.
Our staff continue to roll up their sleeves in all sorts of fun and exciting fundraising and volunteering schemes.
