Gloucester Rugby
Ecclesiastical have teamed up with Gloucester Rugby to become the official mascot sponsor for the 2009/2010 season. Ecclesiastical has been a Gloucester supporter for several years, we share many things in common with the Club: we are very proud of our history and heritage and we’re also committed to the City of Gloucester.
As mascot sponsor we can play a part in encouraging the younger generation to take an interest in sport. We can inspire them to take pride in our City and we can also bring on the next generation of dedicated local supporters. Ecclesiastical involvement means the Gloucester Community team can run a Mascot competition for their ‘Gloucester Crew’ members for each of Gloucester rugby’s home games this season.
Gary Little, Community Manager, said, ‘becoming the mascot for the day and running out with the Gloucester Captain is a once in a lifetime experience for any young supporter, the memories of which will undoubtedly remain with them for a lifetime. We are extremely pleased that Ecclesiastical Insurance have joined us this season providing the opportunity for many more youngsters to enjoy a fantastic and very memorable day out at Kingsholm.’
The Gloucester Rugby Community Team deliver programs for schools coaching, match day activities, educational visits, rugby camps and much more. The majority of projects focus on young people and their engagement in rugby as a sport and the associated benefits of a physically active and healthy lifestyle, community projects are delivered across Gloucestershire and within some areas of Wiltshire, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire.
