NADFAS

The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies

NADFAS opens up the world of arts to everyone

We have chosen to sponsor two significant projects during 2007-2008:

NADFAS Heritage Volunteers’ Handbook

Similar to the Church Recorders Handbook, which we have sponsored in the past, the heritage volunteers’ handbook is essential reading for all volunteers.  This handbook offers a step-by-step guide on how to set up and develop key projects to drive NADFAS’s main objective, which is:

‘…To aid the preservation of our national artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.’(NADFAS Heritage Volunteers Handbook, 2002)

Church Recorders Photographic Records

We are very pleased to sponsor the Church Photographic Records not least to help us to streamline our claims process within our church market.

Thanks to the NADFAS Church Recorders the total number of detailed descriptions accompanied by photographs and drawings taken for each Anglican Church has dramatically increased.  Knowing that the contents of a church has been carefully documented acts as a major deterrent to potential thieves, making objects potentially worthless on the Art market, since they can be so readily identified.

We have found such records invaluable when dealing with claims for church items, which have been stolen or vandalised.
