Purpose of CSR at Ecclesiastical

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is about running our business in a responsible way to all those we come into contact with.  Commitment to acting and behaving responsibly is integral to how a modern business should operate.  At Ecclesiastical this is something we take seriously.  We have to demonstrate to customers, staff and other stakeholders, what we are doing and the progress we are making.

Our overall vision states our concern for advising and protecting those “who enrich the lives of others” and our mission explains that we will operate with “the highest standards of integrity to produce profit and service for church and community”.

Our CSR activities therefore support our brand proposition, reflect our values and link to our corporate goals.  We seek to make sure all our business activities are run in a responsible way and deliver what our brand sets out to achieve.

Ecclesiastical's Corporate Social Responsibility

Responsibility for CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility is part of the way we do business and is not a stand-alone project or separate initiative.  Everyone has a role to play in ensuring we do work in this way.

Steve Wood, Managing Director UK and Ireland, is the Executive Sponsor for corporate social responsibility at Ecclesiastical.  He promotes CSR with the Executive and Board, oversees and supports our activities.

The Head of Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and co-ordinating overall CSR policy, plans and activities.  Individual champions for each of the main areas of CSR drive forward the planned activity on a day-to-day basis.

The Head of Corporate Communications and those with day-to-day responsibility form the CSR Steering Group.  The Group meets quarterly to make sure that our CSR initiatives are on track and achieving their objectives, address any issues that arise and develop future plans.
