If your customers intend to start major alterations, renovations or repairs to a property it’s important that you inform us as soon as possible, before work begins.
You’ll need to complete the building works questionnaire. This can be completed online, or you can print off the PDF and return it to your Development Underwriter. This must be completed before work begins.Once we’ve received the completed form, we can then consider the effect that the work will have on your policy and ensure that the correct cover is in place for the building works themselves.
What is the ‘hot work permit’ for?
This is the procedure which should be followed in all cases where ‘hot work' is involved ie welding, grinding, the use of open flames or the application of heat.
