We've made even more enhancements to our charity insurance
As part of our commitment to the charity market and to ensure we are meeting the complex and wide-ranging needs of charity customers, we have made even more enhancements to our charity insurance cover as a result of our research.
From July 2007 your charity customers can benefit from:
charity trustee cover automatically included up to £100,000 to give charities greater protection for claims against mistakes made by trustees
equipment breakdown – this covers the insured’s equipment in the event of electrical or mechanical breakdown and means we’ll pay for repairs/replacements and any loss of income as a result
fidelity guarantee – an area that may cause concern for charities is exposure to fraud and dishonesty from employees and volunteers, so we have now made this available as an optional section within the policy.
Some of the existing benefits that our insurance offers for charities are:
death of a patron – in the event that a patron dies and your fundraising abilities are affected (i.e. we provide automatic cover for loss of revenue up to £25,000)
bequeathed property extension – this provides interim cover to charities who are left properties and valuable items by a supporter. This means that the bequeathed property and items are covered against the insured events defined in the policy, including fire, storm, break in and malicious damage
personal accident assault cover – this covers authorised employees or volunteers (aged 80 or less) who are assaulted whilst collecting donations.
We can also provide charity insurance specific risk management seminars and guidance notes, buildings insurance valuation for charities (subject to eligibility) and access to telephone help lines providing legal advice, tax advice and emergency assistance.
In addition, we have added some new charity insurance value added services including discounts for your charity clients on fundraising, consultancy and legal services, training courses and storage services, healthcare risk management and environmental services.
