Church hall insurance

Church halls are a focal part of local community life. You have a responsibility to make sure your church hall is adequately protected.  Most church halls are covered by our Hallguard policy which is designed to offer great value and to provide specialist and comprehensive cover.

In response to customer feedback we have updated our policy wording with effect from renewals due on and after 1st September 2015.

From 1 September 2015, Hallguard cover includes:

  • Your buildings and contents – against a wide range of events such as fire, malicious persons, storm, flood and theft

  • Costs involved in gaining access to your premises if keys are lost or stolen, up to £5,000 any one claim

  • Raffle prizes and donated goods up to £5,000 for any one fund raising event

  • Cover for marquees, tents, stalls and similar equipment used in connection with a church event or festival up to £2,500 for any one item

  • Musical instrument and portable items cover of up to £10,000 for any one claim

  • Minor contract works up to £150,000 to cover your insurance obligations

  • Loss of income following an insured event

  • Cover for cancellation, abandonment or postponement of church hall events, up to £1,000 for any one claim, if the cause is beyond your control

  • Loss of money belonging to the church hall including increased limits up to 2 days before and 7 days after a fund raising event

  • Theft of money caused by an act of fraud or dishonesty by hall officials

  • Public and employers liability to cover your legal liability in the event of injury to an employee, volunteer or member of the public, or damage to their property

  • Personal accident cover providing benefit payments following injury to clergy, employees, volunteers, youths or members of a church tour.
