Tax planning

Many people often pay more tax than they need to. Simply by restructuring your finances you could reduce the amount of tax you pay. You may already be using tax-efficient products like ISAs and stakeholder pensions, but there are other products that can help you save both Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.

Ecclesiastical’s Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) can recommend the most tax-efficient plans for your finances, taking into account the latest changes in tax laws.

  • Capital gains tax planning

Capital Gains Tax is a tax on the profit or ‘gain’ you make when you sell or ‘dispose of’ an asset such as land, a second  property or investments.

You are taxed on the  ‘gain’ that  you make - not the amount of money you receive for the asset.

  • Inheritance tax planning

With forward planning it may be possible to avoid or reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax payable by possibly using a trust, life assurance or other tax efficient investments. You can use our Inheritance Calculator  to assess if you have a potential  Inheritance Tax liability

Please note that your tax treatment will depend on your individual circumstances.
Rates of IHT are based on current tax legislation and could be subject to change in the future.
