    Michael Tripp - Group Chief Executive

    Michael joined Ecclesiastical at the beginning of 2007 from global professional services practice, Ernst and Young, where he was responsible for the firm’s Property and Casualty Actuarial team for the UK company market. A qualified actuary, he has more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining the consultancy profession in 1999, Michael held director level appointments at Guardian Royal Exchange in its UK general insurance business as well as strategic planning and business development, including the establishment of Guardian Health.

    Michael now oversees Ecclesiastical’s UK and international businesses and is responsible for over 1,000 staff.

  • Steve Wood, Managing Director, UK and Ireland  

    Steve Wood - Managing Director, UK and Ireland

    Steve has over 25 years’ experience in general insurance, and has spent most of his career with Royal & Sun Alliance. Latterly he was Managing Director at the healthcare provider FirstAssist, joining Ecclesiastical in September 2005.

    Steve is a main board director and is responsible for all of Ecclesiastical’s general insurance business in UK and Ireland, focusing on commercial insurance for the charity, care, education, faith and heritage sectors. He also oversees a busy schemes department, is heavily involved in community activities (including with The Children's Society) and is executive sponsor for Ecclesiastical's environmental policy
