Ministry Bursary Award Scheme

= Required information

= For further information

The Ecclesiastical Insurance Group's Bursary Scheme is open to those engaged in full time stipendiary ministry in a Christian church in the UK, whether clerical or lay people, male or female.

The Awards aim to provide a grant towards the pursuit of a work related line of enquiry or building on established foundations of study outside the pressures of a demanding ministry.

Terms and Conditions

1. Applicants must have completed at least 10 years full time stipendiary ministry in the Anglican Church, or one which is fully recognised as being within the mainstream of Christian churches.

2. Applicants are required to include a letter of support from either their Bishop or Archdeacon (or the equivalent in non-episocopal churches) together with comments on the course of action proposed and the applicant's suitability for it.

3. The judges will be looking for particularly imaginative and worthwhile ideas which will help churches relate to the needs of modern society - ideas which will use Awards to help clergy or lay workers make an even greater contribution to their congregations and communities.

4. Award recipients will be given pro forma which must be completed at the end of the study period to provide an account of how the Award was used and an indcation of the benefits which have arisen from it. We may wish to publish a brief summary of the project on the Company's website and use for publicity purposes information about the nature of the Awards together with photographs of the recipents.

5. Any requests for PhD/university fees and ongoing fees will be declined.
