Reaching for the same goals

04 April 2024

Your insurer should be flexible, reliable, have the same goals and provide what you need and what’s best for your customers.

How important is due diligence?

Shire Insurance found that promises by their new insurer were not materialising. They struggled to grow their veterinary surgery and practice scheme due to a restricted appetite, no direct delegated authority, and low service levels. As a result, they embarked on a detailed search and evaluation of several alternative providers.

Having made a shortlist and following many discussions with the insurers to be absolutely sure they made the correct decision for their customers, Shire Insurance decided to return to Ecclesiastical.

They had been with us a couple of years earlier and we parted on good terms as they moved in a different direction. In the time that has past, Ecclesiastical’s schemes business and appetite had grown and we’d taken lessons from when things hadn’t worked out.

This expansion and Shire Insurance’s prior knowledge and relationship with us, meant they believed our proposition and reputation, particularly around underwriting, claims and risk management was the most superior.

We would encourage any scheme broker to periodically re-evaluate their insurer partnership. Due diligence is necessary for any of us to learn and grow and ensure that the relationship can continue to deliver for the customer and business growth. We’re delighted Shire Vets have come back to Ecclesiastical and look forward to building a great offering and service for their customers.
