Claims Risk and Performance Manager (1817)

About the role

The role holder will provide strategic management of risks and MI within the Claims department.

Key accountabilities

  • Robustly manage risk performance within claims, reporting findings and delivering continuous improvements
  • Lead the regulatory/compliance agenda for Claims (GDPR, Data Protection, Information Security, Fraud and Complaints) including active participation at external committees (e.g.ABI)
  • Effectively manage and drive improvements through the Claims Risk and Conduct Management Committees
  • Effectively manage audit governance across the Claims, including suppliers and delegated authorities
  • Deliver analytical modelling and insight for operational KPIs, capacity modelling and emerging trends within claims
  • Support the delivery of business cases, modelling and benefit tracking through the design of appropriate measures.
  • Effectively manage and undertake analysis of the claims Supply Chain
  • Deliver inspiring leadership across the whole of claims as an active member of the Claims Leadership Team

  • Successful delivery of Claims planning and forecasting process with accompanying assumptions
  • Increased level of risk management within Claims
  • Acceptable audit result from internal compliance, FCA or company auditors

  • Increased level of competency and performance across claims teams
  • Evidence of developing a knowledge sharing (market awareness) culture
  • Early detection and upward reporting of claims trending and all matters of concern

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Relevant qualification (i.e., ACII)
  • In depth insurance technical knowledge 
  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Experience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environment
  • Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • The ability to build and manage co-operative and productive relationships
