Defect Manager (2003)

About the role

Working closely with the Testing, Development, BA, Project Management and Business Teams to:

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure accurate, timely recording of defects
  • Ensure defects are owned through to closure
  • Liaise with the appropriate business owners to ensure defects are correctly categorised and prioritised for fix 
  • Own and chair daily defect review meetings with appropriate audience, and to provide clear minutes and actions 
  • Support and maintain the defect management process
  • Provide accurate timely reporting to key stakeholders
  • Maintain and regularly review best practice guidelines

Key performance indicators

  • Evidenced reduction in defect closure times 
  • Accuracy and relevance of reporting
  • Delivery of the defect management strategy
  • 360º feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstration of being instrumental in the delivery of solutions that contribute to company objectives

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Ability to combine business acumen and technical knowledge when dealing with stakeholders to establish strong working relationships
  • Good organisation skills, ability to multi-task
  • Experience of working on large projects
  • A good understanding of insurance products
  • Experience working with Jira (Desirable)
