Distribution Manager – EPSL (1928)

Key accountabilities

  • Support the development of the business’s strategy and own implementation of Distribution elements
  • Shape and agree with EPSL Management Team a Distribution channel plan
  • Lead a team of distribution professionals, e.g. Business Relationship Managers, to deliver agreed targets and business plans across the channels
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, retain and manage the performance of the distribution team, setting the right culture and tone to create an empowered, disciplined and high performing team
  • Monitor Distribution performance, planning and delivering remedial action to address underperformance and/or maximise over performance
  • Contribute to the evaluation of competitor activity and external market developments and communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Leverage personal market presence and experience
  • Operate in line with relevant control environment and ensure the delivery of compliant, fit for purpose business practices

  • 360º feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Delivery of business unit:
  • Strategy and business plan (contribute to)
  • - Optimal distribution channel plan and development, in agreement with EPSL Management Team
  • - New business volume, value and fee income targets
  • - Profit target 
  • - Distributor acquisition and retention targets

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Track record of delivering business results through others
  • Experience in contributing to business strategy
  • Expertise in leading Distribution teams within a regulated environment, likely to be financial services or a related category
  • Experience of leading and building capability in a fast-growing environment
  • Track record of demonstrating strong commercial business acumen
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence key stakeholders including customers, both internally and externally. Predisposition and ability to work collaboratively with other Group functions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
