About the role

The IT / Business Solutions Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Business Solutions team in Ansvar, helping to shape strategy, develop IT solutions and provide support services and project delivery. The role will act as a member of Ansvar’s Leadership team with line management through to the Business Solutions Director. Business strategy and solutions priorities are defined and set by Ansvar MD.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Building and maintaining an IT strategy in line with overarching Business Solutions strategy & business objectives
  • Own business wide effective stakeholder relationships
  • Understanding business functions and improving on IT business processes
  • Delivery of IT improvement projects and project portfolio
  • Input into and help shape IT reviews and assessment of procedures and controls
  • Conduct staff training, mentoring and performance reviews
  • Provide day to day end-user support by leading the team within agreed SLA’s
  • Ensuring that all systems are monitored, maintained and compliant
  • Assess existing systems deployment and make recommendations for improvements
  • Ensuring that all systems are monitored, maintained and compliant
  • Engaging with the wider Business solutions functions to support delivery
  • Ensure Business Solutions processes, including (TDA, DDA and Demand Management) are followed

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in managing blended IT support services within an insurance or financial services organisation is highly desirable 
  • Experience in Service management and support functions within an insurance or financial services organisation is highly desirable
  • Experienced in delivering Technology programme to cost and time
  • A proven ability to plan, organise, prioritise, manage and track numerous concurrent activities
  • Leadership, management and development of a technical and multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven ability to explain technical issues simply to non-technical colleagues
  • Experience in delivering rationalisation/standardisation or other applications-focused transformation programmes
