About the role

To provide strategic management of risks and compliance.

Key accountabilities

  • Plan and develop Risk Management Strategy within ERM framework
  • Implementing a Risk Management architecture ensuring governance is robust within function
  • Measuring Risk Management Performance and reporting findings and recommendations
  • Develop and lead audit strategy
  • Develop and ensure first line Risk processes are in place and imbedded in the business
  • Interpret Audit MI and action appropriate changes
  • Act as Risk liaison for Ansvar within the wider business
  • Deliver analysis of results, plans and forecast for Ansvar to support the leadership team 
  • Lead the annual claims budgeting, strategic planning and periodic forecasting processes ensuring robust documentation of assumptions, stress tests, drivers and outputs
  • Delivering inspiring leadership, taking responsibility for and managing the motivation, development and performance of direct reports.
  • Support the delivery of complex business cases, modelling and supporting benefit tracking through the design of appropriate measures and governance.
  • Support and represent the Ansvar MD by providing analysis, insights and reports as requested

  • Delivery standard to within agreed SLAs
  • Timeliness and quality of reporting
  • Increased level of risk management within Ansvar
  • Acceptable audit result from internal compliance, FCA or company auditors
  • 360’ feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Increased level of competency and performance across claims teams
  • Evidence of developing a knowledge sharing (market awareness) culture

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Relevant qualification 
  • Previous Insurance experience
  • Solid risk management knowledge including risk and Solvency II regulations and best practice 
  • Proven relevant experience in business operations or operational risk roles
  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Experience of effective stakeholder management within a commercial environment
  • Confident and influential communicator with the ability to negotiate at all levels
  • The ability to build and manage co-operative and productive relationships
