The ins and outs of trustee indemnity insurance

As a trustee, you volunteer your time to make life better for others, but in doing so you expose yourself to risk and liabilities you may not even be aware of. That’s some scary stuff!

As a charity trustee, it makes sense to protect yourself so you can help others knowing that, should the inevitable happen, someone is there to help you. With more and more trustees seeking to purchase protection it pays to be in the know.

So what is trustee indemnity?

Trustees are able to buy out of their own pocket; however remember to check with your charity whether they have legal authority to purchase the protection out of charity funds.
