Garage Contents Insurance & Outbuilding cover

Many of us use our garages for more than just storing cars!  That’s why as part of your home insurance cover Ecclesiastical  Contents Insurance includes garage contents insurance (excluding motor vehicles) as standard.

Our Buildings insurance includes cover for your outbuildings, for example garage and shed insurance against damage by a range of events such as fire, theft, subsidence, storm or flood and escape of water.

Do I need garage and outbuilding contents insurance?

Our research shows that in 2009 the average value of the contents of a British garage excluding cars is £2,472*. In fact, almost half of all Britons (47%) reported that their possessions, not including their car, now take up three-quarters or more of their garage. More interestingly, 1 in 10 people work out in their garage and often will have valuable gym equipment in the garage.

In addition to your home our insurance not only covers the contents of your garage or outbuildings but it also covers storm damage to gates, hedges and fences if your main building, garage or outbuilding is damaged at the same time in the same storm.

If your home is left unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days, we exclude theft, vandalism and damage caused by escape of water.

Our insurance has a £5,000 limit on theft or attempted theft.

Remember, as with all household insurance policies, terms and conditions and minimum premiums apply. Please note we may not be able to quote in all circumstances.
