Coram Life Education

Ecclesiastical has linked up with national children’s charity, Coram, to support the work they are doing to give young people across the UK tools to support them in building respectful relationships.

Coram – the UK’s first children’s charity that was established in 1739 - has been working with Ansvar for six years and the partnership has already totalled over £100,000 in donations and sponsorship.

Now Ecclesiastical is providing a further £50,000 funding to enable Coram Life Education (CLE) to develop and deliver a new Relationships Education programme in primary schools from September 2017, helping them to navigate feelings, friendship, relationships, be ‘cyberwise’ and stay safe from harm.

The programme includes a comprehensive set of lesson plans, activities, teacher and parent guidance - aligned with recommended content set by the Department for Education and informed by in-depth research to establish the needs of teachers in delivering SRE.

The new programme will be available this year to 200,000 children nationally at schools already working with Coram and will be accessible to all schools by means of the new CLE direct platform, SCARF from 1st September, 2017 – an online resource which enables teachers to access more than 200 easy to use PSHE curriculum-based lessons, with useful planning tools.
