Ecclesiastical pays tribute to local heroes

  • Ecclesiastical supports awards for the fifth year

  • Winner of the Braveheart Award George Hancox

As sponsor of the Braveheart Award in this year’s Heart of Gloucestershire Community Awards, insurer Ecclesiastical has joined in paying tribute to the people of Gloucestershire who go above and beyond to improve the lives of others in their local community.  Special congratulations went to winner of the ‘Braveheart’ award George Hancox.

George suffers from a condition which means he cannot digest fat and needs to be fed every four hours through a special tube.  Despite this, George leaves an active lifestyle and participates in a wide range of activities including Beavers, Karate and swimming.

This is the fifth time that Ecclesiastical has sponsored the award and Group HR Director, Caroline Taplin, said: “It is a privilege to be a part of these awards which recognise the hard work of so many people across the county. In particular the Braveheart Award is given to those who face a personal struggle everyday yet still manage to inspire those around them.  George is a truly remarkable young man and a role model to us all.  In the face of so much adversity he continues to enjoy life and is a real inspiration to people across the county.”

The results of the Heart of Gloucestershire Community Awards, which are organised by the Gloucestershire Echo and the Gloucester Citizen, were announced at a special ceremony at Hatherley Manor.
