Opening up

23 January 2020

In this video, Chris and Adrian explore tips for opening up, and tackling the issue of stigma.

Encouragingly, our survey1 shows that 52% feel comfortable talking to their manager and colleagues about mental wellbeing. We look at how this attitude can help create an environment of trust and openness.

Our survey also identified:

  • 69% feel their organisation is supportive of wellbeing and mental health issues
  • 59% agree their organisation is committed to reducing the stigma around mental health
  • 13% think awareness is higher due to more publicity in the trade press and social media.

Our intention with these videos is to offer insight and support on topics that our research has identified as areas of concerns for our brokers.

It’s important to note we’re not medical professionals and if you feel that you or someone you know is in crisis, please seek professional help. The Samaritans can be contacted free of charge on 116 123.
