Sir Philip Mawer

Sir Philip Mawer is a retired public servant whose varied career has included spells as a civil servant; the principal lay official of the Church of England; ethical regulator and the chairman of a major charity, Allchurches Trust.  

During his career, he acted as Secretary to Lord Scarman’s Inquiry into the Brixton disturbances of 1981 and he was the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, over-seeing the MPs’ expenses scandal.
