Home insurance - Getting back to work

12 June 2020

We are extending our temporary cover enhancements

As the lockdown begins to ease, employers across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be considering how and when employees can return to work.

In following the latest Government guidance, and depending on your industry sector, some workplaces may need to remain temporarily closed, and you may need to continue working from home for an extended period.

To support you during this period, we are extending our temporary cover enhancements introduced in April for another two months until the end of August.

The changes, introduced in response to the Government lockdown, ensure that you are not unduly penalised for temporary closures due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The temporary changes provide cover for contents taken home to help you work remotely due to COVID-19 and for homes that become temporarily unused (in order to comply with Government guidance) with no increases to premium, excess or cover.

By extending the cover for a further 60 days, it provides continued cover while you transition back to work in line with Government advice.

All other policy terms, conditions and exception are unchanged.

We hope that this provides the reassurance you need. If this action is insufficient to meet your insurance needs or if you are unsure about any other insurance issues please speak to your usual Ecclesiastical contact.
