St Albans, West Leigh use grant to welcome new residents

27 January 2022

The money is helping the church to fund welcome packs for the new residents.

St Albans West Leigh, is located in a growing community with a new housing development of 95 houses and flats going up opposite the church and a further development of 91 dwellings close by in the planning stages. The money is helping the church to welcome the new residents.

“We are delighted to receive the £130 from yourselves as part of your Trust 130 campaign. We have decided to use the money to assist in funding welcome packs – which will be a booklet about our church and the locale along with some nice biscuits. The booklet and biscuits enable us to make personal contact with people as they move into our community, and to offer them a warm welcome.” The Revd Canon Karina Green, Priest in Charge St Alban’s West Leigh.

Trust130 was launched in 2017, to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the founding of the company. Under the scheme, in line with Ecclesiastical’ s charitable ownership and Christian values, every time a new customer takes out a new home insurance policy we offer to donate £130 to the church or cathedral of that customer’s choice.

It has been extraordinarily successful – to date, the company has given more than £460,000 to over 2500 churches around the UK. There is no limit on the number of donations that can be made.

If your home insurance is due for renewal and you are interested in how Trust130 can benefit your church, please contact Ecclesiastical Insurance on 0800 7830 130
