Broker wellbeing: Firms making progress but brokers still feeling the strain
Ecclesiastical survey finds stress levels have risen to their highest levels since 2019.
Ecclesiastical has retained its top spot in the Fairer Finance Home Insurance league table for a record nineteenth time and remains the UK’s most trusted home insurance provider.
The specialist insurer topped the list of 49 insurers including TSB, NFU Mutual and Nationwide, retaining Gold Ribbon status for another year.
Fairer Finance, an independent consumer group, surveys around 20,000 UK banking and insurance customers throughout the year, asking them to rate how satisfied they are with their bank or insurance company.
Customers are asked to rate the firms on happiness and trust. Fairer Finance then uses records from the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to assess complaints handling and a combination of mystery shopping and policy document reviews to assess transparency.
Ecclesiastical came first in most trusted and customer happiness achieving an overall customer experience score of 83% to top the table once again.
Mark Hews, group chief executive of Benefact Group, the parent company of Ecclesiastical, said: “It’s great news we’re once again the most trusted insurer in the Fairer Finance league tables.
“Customers choose to insure with us because they know we are committed to delivering the best possible service for them and this recognition is a testament to the efforts of our teams.
“We’re owned by a charity and all of our available profits go to good causes. That sets us apart from the competition – and the more the Group grows the more the Group can give to charity. We know that resonates with our customers, and that charitable purpose feels even more relevant in these difficult times - spurring us on to grow the business further.”
James Daley, managing director at Fairer Finance, said: “Fairer Finance turned 10 years old this March - and Ecclesiastical has won a gold ribbon in our home insurance customer experience ratings ever since the first time we published them back in 2014.
“We’ve published these ratings twice a year since then - and for the last 19 waves, Ecclesiastical has come first - a feat matched by no other brand in any sector. Furthermore, even as firms are being asked to do more to meet the requirements of the FCA’s Consumer Duty, Ecclesiastical shows no signs of being caught - maintaining a huge lead over its nearest competitors. It’s not possible to game Fairer Finance’s ratings.
“Ecclesiastical’s dominance is proof of a decade of top draw customer service. Congratulations and keep up the good work.”
