About the charity

Dogs for Good is an innovative charity exploring ways dogs can help people overcome challenges and enrich and improve lives and communities. They provide assistance dogs to support adults and children with a range of disabilities and children with autism; community dogs to help people improve their independence, wellbeing and skills; and a Family Dog team which gives advice and support to help people get the most out of their relationship with their pet dog.

Together we’re helping

The £1,000 donation from Ecclesiastical will help turn young dogs into lifesaving assistance dogs or community dogs. It will support four dogs in training and help to manage their health and welfare. Each week, the dogs are groomed, health checked, teeth are brushed and every dog is kept up to date with their flea and wormer treatments.

After their training is complete these special dogs will go on to help someone or a group of people overcome specific challenges to enrich and improve their lives. It could be that an adult or child with physical disabilities is supported to become more independent, a child with autism made to feel safe or a group of people helped to develop life skills through animal assisted interventions.
