About Ellie

Ellie grew up in the West Midlands and studied Theology at Durham University. In 2016, she moved to Cheltenham and joined Ecclesiastical after being attracted by the charitable ethos.

During University, Ellie joined the Durham University Charity Kommittee (DUCK) and travelled to Jordan as part of a charity excursion, teaching schoolchildren for a month and raising money for Care International. She also spent a month working with the Maritime Heritage Trust during a graduate placement, learning about the key challenges facing charity conservation groups and coming up with ideas for how to appeal to younger audiences.

Ellie supports a number of charities – one in particular is Mission Macedonia, who are currently providing food parcels and support for families across North Macedonia through the local church network there. Ellie enjoys volunteering and regularly participates in charity bakes and fun runs.

I was motivated to apply to become a staff judge this year after seeing the effects that COVID-19 has had on the charitable sector.

I was also inspired by the different creative things people are doing to raise money and want to actively get involved and learn more about the types of projects charities are planning and how Ecclesiastical’s support makes a difference.
