About the role

The Operational Delivery Team is a multi-skilled team responsible for a wide range of activities that enable us to support underwriting excellence. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team on a temporary basis giving the successful candidate an opportunity to expand their knowledge and for further career development. This is a vital role which will include all aspects of reinsurance administration, supporting on-going enhancements to underwriting or claims background and attention to detail are key along with the ability to work accurately, at pace and to deadlines, independently and as part of a team, as well as flexible approach to the wide range of activities that this team delivers.

Key accountabilities

  • Processing reinsurance aggregations, administration of FAC risks, changes to retentions and assisting with reinsurance reconciliations and bordereau returns
  • Assisting with ELTO administration, weekly and monthly reporting and monthly reconciliations to ensure data is clean and fit for purpose
  • Assist in administering reinsurance and underwriting audit
  • Assist in updating SharePoint material, maintaining and improving underwriting guides, procedures and technical training material
  • Provide essential support to the various functions of the team and wider department as necessary meeting defined levels of service (SLAs) to improve underwriting standards
  • Support Underwriting Development projects
  • Understand and operate within regulatory framework and identify and escalate any risks to the business

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Proven track record and knowledge of general insurance principles through reinsurance, underwriting or claims experience
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make sound decisions
  • Ability to build productive working relationships
  • Experience I+ user preferred but full training will be given for the right candidate
  • Working knowledge of Excel and good numerical skills
  • Able to work unsupervised, prioritise workload, meet strict deadlines and identify errors and escalate accordingly
