12 Days of Giving

You helped us do even more good this Christmas

To celebrate our 130th anniversary year, this Christmas we donated £130,000 to good causes. Thanks to the support of our customers, brokers, partners and employees we are pleased to announce that 130 charities will each be receiving a donation of £10001

The response was magnificent, we received a staggering 23,000 nominations, demonstrating how much you value charities and the important role they play in today’s society. Below are some details of how the money you helped us donate will be spent, together with the full list of winners.

The Milestone School

The Milestone School has 310 pupils aged 2 to 16 years of age with severe or profound learning and physical disabilities. Our pupils require specialist equipment and play activities that we are often unable to provide from our limited budget. We are so excited to be receiving this £1,000 with which we will buy sensory exploration equipment for our multi-sensory room.

Omega the National Association for End of Life Care

Omega is an end of life charity. We support the frail-elderly, family care-givers, former carers and the bereaved. Omega care for life is also the home of the multi-award winning Chatterbox Action Against Loneliness and Crisis Support Programme. Your donation will support Omega’s flagship telephone befriending initiative aimed at socially isolated clients in crisis.

Forever Angels

We support orphaned and abandoned babies in an orphanage and outreach programme in Tanzania. These infants come to us because they are starving and simply have no alternative. Ecclesiastical’s donation will help buy formula milk for the babies which supports their nutrition and growth. After a few months, the babies are unrecognisable – happy, healthy and ready to return to extended family, or be adopted into new families.

HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity

Our aim is to prevent avoidable and early deaths caused by high cholesterol and cardiovascular disease. When someone receives a diagnosis of high cholesterol it can be very worrying and confusing. Through our cholesterol helpline we offer advice, support and information to thousands of people each year. Your kind donation will go towards funding this vital and unique service.

Cleveland Hedgehog Preservation Society

Caring for hedgehogs can be extremely expensive. Baby hedgehogs need feeding every two to three hours, so we require lots of special baby animal milk to keep them fed. As well as food and costly vet bills, small hedgehogs need a constant source of heat. Your donation will help us to buy essential incubators and heat pads for our hedgehogs.
