Andrew Torrance

Member of Risk Committee and Group Remuneration Committee.

Andrew is an experienced Board Director and Chair. His initial career was spent with The Boston Consulting Group where he was a partner in the London office focusing on the financial services sector.

Thereafter, he has spent more than thirty years as a Board member in the general insurance industry in both executive and non-executive roles. In his more than 20 years as an executive, he was CEO of London & Edinburgh Insurance Group, Allianz UK and Fireman’s Fund. The latter role took him to the USA for two years.

In his 11 years as a non-executive, his experience includes serving on the Boards of Allianz UK, Allianz Partners, Novae Group and Tokio Marine Kiln Syndicates which he chairs.
