Gail Tucker

Member of Risk Committee and member of Audit Committee.

Gail is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). She is a director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Chesnara plc and its subsidiary, Countrywide Assured plc. She is also a Trustee and Chair of the Risk and Governance Committee at the charity Breast Cancer Now. In addition, Gail is a member of the ICAEW Financial Services Faculty Board and Chair of the ICAEW Insurance Committee.

Gail previously served for seven years as an independent member of the Council of the University of Warwick, where she was also a member of its Audit and Risk Committee.

Prior to retiring in 2024, Gail was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for 29 years. During this time, she led the audits of numerous insurance companies and held the role of Insurance Business Unit Chief Auditor, with responsibility for audit quality and technical assurance. She was PwC’s Global IFRS Insurance Technical Lead for many years and was heavily involved in the development of the international insurance accounting standard. Gail also served as Global Accounting Technical Leader for Financial Instruments and represented PwC on a range of technical and industry groups.
