Ecclesiastical builds on portfolio with new Bricks and Mortar scheme

05 January 2023

Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has become the new insurance partner for Brokerbility’s Bricks and Mortar scheme from December 2022.

The Gloucester-based insurer has joined up with Brokerbility in the latest step forward in its ambitious growth plans within the schemes space.

Ecclesiastical has taken over the scheme delivering the transfer in less than eight weeks and providing brokers with certainty during challenging market conditions.

The Brokerbility network involves over 30 independent brokers from across the UK, all of which were carefully chosen to be part of the network for their ethical credentials. Brokerbility controls over £400m of premiums in the insurance market.

The scheme took effect from Thursday 1 December ahead of the January 2023 renewals starting. Existing agreements will automatically move to the new scheme using the same policy number.

Tony Fletcher, corporate business director at Ecclesiastical Insurance, said: “I’m delighted to announce this partnership with Brokerbility. We’ve worked hard to get this up and running in less than eight weeks, which is a testament to everyone’s hard work.

“The transfer of this successful scheme to Ecclesiastical continues our drive to take on both existing schemes that have a strong track record and new schemes that have good growth potential.

“This is a really exciting time for us as a business and we’ve got ambitious plans for our growth within the schemes space. We’re targeting sustainable growth within our portfolio and right now there is a great opportunity for us to achieve that by working closely with brokers and MGAs to help them solve some of their current challenges.”

Michelle South, director of operations and schemes at Brokerbility, said: “Ecclesiastical are a very welcome addition to the Brokerbility stable. A partner with shared values and quality at the heart of everything they do which will provide our members with a truly exclusive proposition for their clients.”
