Ecclesiastical Insurance tops Fairer Finance table for 20th time

Ecclesiastical has retained its top spot in the Fairer Finance Home Insurance league table for a record twentieth time and remains the UK’s most trusted home insurance provider.

The specialist insurer topped the list of 47 insurers including Bank of Scotland, TSB, NFU Mutual, Nationwide and Lloyds Bank, retaining Gold Ribbon status for another year.

Fairer Finance, an independent consumer group, surveys around 20,000 UK banking and insurance customers throughout the year, asking them to rate how satisfied they are with their bank or insurance company.

Customers are asked to rate the firms on happiness and trust. Fairer Finance then uses records from the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to assess complaints handling and a combination of mystery shopping and policy document reviews to assess transparency.

Ecclesiastical came first in most trusted and customer happiness achieving an overall customer experience score of 82% to top the table once again.

“I’m delighted that we’re once again top of the table and rated as the most trusted insurer in the Fairer Finance league tables.

“We know our customers choose to insure with us because they know we are committed to delivering the best possible service for them, and this recognition is a testament to the efforts of our teams. To have this confirmed for a 20th consecutive time is a real achievement.

“We’re owned by a charity, and all of our available profits go to good causes. That sets us apart from the competition – and the more the Group grows, the more the Group can give to charity. We know that resonates with our customers, and that charitable purpose feels even more relevant in these difficult times, spurring us on to grow the business further.”

Mark Hews, Benefact Group Chief Executive Officer

“Ecclesiastical continues to lead the way on customer service and experience in the home insurance market – topping our tables for the 20th time in a row, which is unprecedented.

“To do well in our rankings, you need to have happy customers, as well as a good track record on complaints and transparency. Ecclesiastical has consistently performed well in all these areas. It’s an impressive track record. Congratulations, Ecclesiastical, on an outstanding achievement.”

James Daley, Fairer Finance Managing Director
