Laura Carter

Customer Segment Director

About Laura

Laura joined Ecclesiastical in October 2017 as a Product Development Consultant, supporting across all Niches, and led the development of the IDD Product Oversight and Governance Policy across UKGI. In January 2023, she was promoted to Head of Customer Propositions, managing a team of 5 people. Laura is heavily involved in supporting her team to complete the Fair Value Assessments for all of our products and acted as Business Lead for the development of the recently launched Leisure product.

Laura started her insurance career in 2006 with Zurich, initially in sales and then proposition development. Her sales role covered both commercial and personal lines insurance, initially in Bristol and Birmingham offices, working with a panel of national and global brokers. Moving to Zurich Municipal, she led a small proposition development team across all segments, identifying innovative solutions and being appointed as the Project Lead for Zurich Municipal in the UKGI Underwriting Transformation project. Laura holds a degree in Geography and a CII Diploma.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys walking, managing an allotment, and gardening. She is looking to take up rowing again after initially getting into the sport at university.
