Clergy car insurance
Ecclesiastical car insurance is specifically designed to cover your car for domestic use and your duties as a member of the clergy.
A different kind of insurer
Where some insurers may not understand the work of the clergy, Ecclesiastical has been working with churches for over 135 years.
Clergy car insurance benefits
A general car insurance policy may not cover you fully while you are on church business, but we can help.
These benefits may not be available on a standard motor policy.
- Church activities are covered as standard
Work you do for the church may be considered as driving for business purposes on a general insurance policy. Ecclesiastical car insurance covers your work for the church as standard1. - 0% interest on monthly instalments
If you’re spreading the cost of your premium, we won’t charge you any extra. - Cover for items in the car
Up to £500 of church goods are covered within the car. - Unlimited windscreen cover
This is subject to a £90 excess per claim if an approved glass supplier is used. - Additional drivers are covered
This is only when using the car for church business and ancillary church-related activities. - Excellent customer service
Our clergy car insurance team at Ecclesiastical is part of SEIB Insurance Brokers, which is part of the Benefact Group. We have 60 years of experience offering excellent customer service and will provide helpful information to guide you through your quote and find the right cover. - Optional extras
There are options to include legal protection and breakdown cover. - Available to drivers aged 25 to 74
For new enquiries, we can offer quotations for drivers aged between 25 and 74. Whilst we’re not taking on new policies for drivers falling outside of this age group, this will not affect clients with existing policies who can continue coverage without interruption.
1 Please note – social, domestic and pleasure refers to day-to-day, non-business related driving. It is important to remember that the car would not be insured for any other business activities other than those undertaken for the church. For example, use for a spouse's occupation or business outside the church would not be included in the standard cover.
