Grant size
  • Small - up to £5,000, exceptionally up to £10,000
  • Medium - up to £10,000
  • Large - up to £50,000
  • Treasure Ireland grants - up to £10,000
  • Wolfson Fabric Repair grants - up to £10,000
Funder's interests
  • Maintaining and repairing church buildings, and project development work. 
Activities supported
  • Church buildings, capital projects, and those that support people and communities.
  • Listed and unlisted churches, chapels and meeting houses, as long as they are open for regular public worship (i.e. more than six services a year). The building must have been built as a place of worship and must be more than 30 years old.
Themes
  • Maintenance, fabric work, and project development.
Inclusions
  • Urgent and structural repairs
  • Installing accessible toilets or a kitchen, or improving existing facilities
  • Fabric repairs to the church building
  • Maintenance works
  • Developing a church building project and supporting churches in preparing for a major project.
Exclusions and other info
  • They will not fund:
    • Church-based activities
    • Conservation or changes to content
    • Work on courtyard/boundary walls
    • Work in a building separate from the main church
    • Works purely for heating, lighting, and reseating
    • Buildings that are no longer in use for regular worship, that are less than 30 years old, or that are not originally built as a place of worship.

  • They expect applicants to all programmes to have 50% of funding in place at the point of application.
