Ecclesiastical Insurance donates over £130,000 to local churches to celebrate its 130th anniversary year

06 August 2018

Specialist insurer, Ecclesiastical has donated over £130,000 to parish churches thanks to its Trust130 campaign.

More than 850 parish churches across the UK have benefitted and over a thousand donations of £130 have been made so far.

Ecclesiastical launched Trust130 to celebrate its 130th anniversary year.  The insurer has pledged to donate £130 to an Anglican church of the customer’s choice for every home insurance policy it sells between the start of the campaign and 31 December 2021.

To date, £300,000 has been donated by customers who have purchased home insurance through Ecclesiastical since the launch of the campaign in May 2017.

The Trust130 campaign will run until 31 December 2020 and there is no limit to the number of individual donations a single church can receive. To take advantage of the scheme, home insurance customers simply have to quote Trust130 when they take out a new home insurance policy and name the Anglican Church they would like to receive the donation.

Michael Angell, Church Operations Director at Ecclesiastical said: “We know the difference donations can make to churches, helping to fund anything from repairs and day to day running costs, to exciting new projects and equipment. The Trust130 campaign has allowed us to donate over a hundred and twenty thousand pounds so far. For individual churches that money can make a huge difference.

“The good news is that churches still have plenty of time to benefit from the Trust130 campaign. Anybody purchasing a home insurance policy from Ecclesiastical between now and 31 December 2020 can make a donation to their local Anglican church.”

The Trust130 campaign is part of the insurer’s commitment to donating £100m to good causes by the end of 2020.
