This Valentine’s Day, has your schemes insurer left you asking where is the love?

14 February 2019

January was a busy month at specialist insurer Ecclesiastical. Its dedicated schemes team has won five new schemes since the start of the year.

Love heart
The specialist insurer has been helping brokers successfully launch, develop and grow schemes for more than 30 years. In fact, Ecclesiastical has a dedicated team working with brokers specifically on a delegated authority basis.

Commenting on the team’s success, Tony Fletcher, corporate business director at Ecclesiastical said: “We’ve won some very well established and well run schemes already this year across a variety of trade areas, so you have to wonder why brokers are leaving their current providers?”

Tony believes that this is largely down to the team: “Undoubtedly the difference for us is the team. Between them, they have more than 175 years of schemes experience in helping brokers on board, develop and grow business through the delegated authority model.

“We are a specialist schemes insurer so we understand the need to get under the skin of a business sector and really understand what the end customer needs. We really get to know the brokers we work with and the business areas they operate in and as a result can help them drive their business forward.”

While Ecclesiastical is known as a specialist insurer for the education, heritage, charity and faith sectors, its schemes team often writes business outside of these specialisms, working with brokers who have real expertise in their trade sectors. The new schemes landed cover a range of sectors from commercial property to specialist all risks cover and liability. Tony says they have an appetite to grow in 2019.

“We’ve had a great start to the year and I’m really proud of what the team has achieved so far. While new schemes are a key part of our growth plans for 2019 and beyond, showing our existing schemes brokers a little love, supporting their growth strategies and helping them stay relevant to their markets is also a key objective.”

And the secret to success? It’s all about building and sustaining strong relationships Tony explains:

“We are committed to working with our schemes brokers for the long term, in fact on average our existing commercial schemes have been with us for 14 years and some in excess of 25! This is a testament to the strong relationships the team builds and sustains with our delegated partners.”
